Water Metrics West began in 1971 with our emphasis on
flow meters and backflow prevention. In those early days, we worked in close
conjunction with the City of Portland Water Bureau, specifically with Bill
Preble and others in the Water Quality Department, assisting in the initial
development and engineering of the Double Check Detector Assembly (DCDA). Cross
Connection was our focus then and continues to this day. We are considered the
primary source for backflow devices, parts, test gauges, and testing
accessories in the Northwest.
We have just completed development of our new, gauge
equipment calibration and repair bench. This is a "wet" bench
dedicated specifically for certification of backflow test gauges. Water Metrics
West can now repair and calibrate all types of gauges and our calibration
results will now be traceable to N.I.S.T..
In addition, we carry a formidable inventory of backflow device
parts. Our sales personnel have a broad testing background that will assist our
customers in determining the right part needed for each repair. We are master
parts distributors for all the major manufacturers, and as such, have an
extensive and diverse stock of parts for both new and "ancient"
devices.
In calender year 2000, Water Metrics West conducted backflow
testing for over 5,000 clients, totalling over 12,000 devices. These clients
range in size from the individual residential account containing one device
isolating their lawn irrigation system to corporate accounts possessing in
excess of 200 devices. Our geographic range extends from Medford, Oregon in the
South to Longview, Washington in the North. Eastward our furthest client is in
Arlington, Oregon and we travel to the Oregon Coast for some of our corporate
accounts.
Our backflow staff consists of six certified backflow testers
and two certified Cross Connection Inspectors. We have a combined experience in
excess of 75 years. Contact us if we can help in any manner and put us to the
test.
